On the retail scene .....
Our former neighbor in the Stall
Market, Jo Bell of Pie in the Sky, has finally decided to retire
and so has closed her shop. Alas, you will not be able to get our
coffee either by the cup or by the bag any longer there. If you've been picking up wholesale orders there,
the Grove Corner Market has graciously allowed us to leave orders in
their shop Pleas contact us for details..

Our own retail Stall in the Grove
Arcade building in downtown Asheville has been closed since December
2004. Why did we close? It was simply that we lost money every month
since we opened in November 2002. The Grove Arcade itself was
never able to generate the foot traffic necessary to support our
take-out-only shop. We opened the shop in the Arcade predicated on
assurances by the Foundation
of high traffic inside and that we would be the exclusive specialty
coffee retailer there. Neither turned out to be the case. We
envisioned something akin to the crowds in the Asheville Mall, but got
only the empty corridors of the Innsbruck.
