mountain-grown Arabica beans. Randall Brooks Sluder, who roasts all
Mountain City coffees by hand, is a fifth-generation Western North
Carolina mountaineer. The Brooks family settled in the Hominy Valley area
of Buncombe County , southwest of Asheville, in the early 1800s. The
Probat roaster used to roast these beans is set up at the site of the old
Brooks homeplace. |

business now for 10 years, supplying restaurants, coffee shops, and
individuals in the Asheville area and throughout Western North Carolina.
Randall and his wife, Debra Furr Sluder, and sons Brittain (14) and Graham
(11) are all actively involved in Mountain City Coffee Roasters."
